DADE CITY — A 27-year-old man is in jail after police said he battered his disabled uncle during an argument Sunday.

William Thomas Killoren, of 37027 Meridian Ave., kicked and punched his uncle, William Ralph Killoren, during the fight, and pushed him out of his wheelchair, a Dade City police report states. The uncle suffered cuts on his face and possible loss of a tooth.

The nephew told police he was defending himself and said his uncle started the fight, the report says.

The younger Killoren faces a charge of abuse of a disabled adult. He remained jailed Monday in lieu of $5,000 bail.
