LARGO —Joseph Difiore was found guilty on Friday in the 2006 murder of Mary T. Dittus of Dunedin. Difiore then was sentenced to life in prison.

Dittus was a popular person at Grand Bay Mobile Home Estates, and among folks who like to gather beside the Pinellas Trail at a restaurant called Time Out, which is now Happy Trails. Many of those friends came to the trial this week.

Dittus had set up an old friend, Anthony Dadabo, 50, in a mobile home at the Grand Bay complex, where she also lived. But prosecutors say he and Difiore, 37, who both had drug problems, plotted to murder Dittus and take her cash.

Dadabo also has been charged with first-degree murder and is scheduled to go on trial Tuesday.
