Juvenile jail counselor cleared of sexual abuse charges

DADE CITY — A jury this week acquitted a 32-year-old man of sexually abusing a teenage girl in the juvenile lockup where he worked as a counselor.

Terry Lambus, of Wesley Chapel, faced a charge of sexual misconduct. The girl, who was 16 at the time of 2008 crime, initially denied anything happened. But she later told investigators and testified this week that Lambus made her perform two different sex acts.

Jurors saw two videos recorded at the facility that showed her and Lambus interacting but did not display images of any sexual contact. The jury deliberated less than a half hour Tuesday before finding Lambus not guilty.
