MacDill airman charged in child sex sting

TAMPA — Jason Alan Hargrove posted pictures of a penis in a Craigslist advertisement titled "MILITARY LOOKING FOR A LOVER" and wrote that he knew how to be discrete.

But, according to a criminal complaint, he didn't know how to avoid a law enforcement sting.

The 26-year-old Air Force senior airman who lives in Brandon was arrested Monday and faces a federal charge of trying to entice a minor to have sex.

That's because an undercover officer answered the ad, pretending to be a 14-year-old girl, and in a series of exchanges, the airman offered to teach the "girl" about sex, the complaint states.

When he appeared at a rendezvous point, he was apprehended by agents for the Air Force Office of Special Investigations.

In recent weeks, child sex stings also led to the arrests of Raymond Michael Foy, 25, of Tampa and Jerry Wayne Johnson Jr., 34, of Brandon.
