TAMPA — Federal authorities say a man sexually assaulted a 7-year-old girl he was babysitting in a residence at MacDill Air Force Base and used his phone to take sexually explicit photographs of her.

Erich Clifford Mandell Ramos, 26, faces charges of child porn production and engaging in sexual contact with a minor, according to a criminal complaint unsealed Friday in U.S. District Court. The girl told investigators the contact happened more than once.

Hillsborough County jail records state that he is a store associate at the base exchange.

He appeared before Magistrate Judge Thomas G. Wilson, who ordered him held without bail.
