Man sentenced to 14 years in prison in Clearwater motorcycle crash

A 40-year-old man charged with vehicular homicide in a Clearwater motorcycle crash that killed his passenger pleaded guilty Thursday and was sentenced to 14 years in prison.

In April 2015, Jerome Roberson was riding a motorcycle when the bike veered off Court Street and hit a curb, Clearwater police said at the time.

Roberson of Lakeland and his passenger, 22-year-old Rachel Nicole Perkins, were thrown from the bike. She died at the scene.
