A 34-year-old man charged with fatally stabbing a Largo woman inside her home last year pleaded guilty this week to first-degree murder and was sentenced to life in prison.
Patricia Canon King, 50, was found dead inside her home at 1008 10th Ave. NW on Feb. 6 last year. Detectives linked William S. Coffin III, whom police said was a transient, to King's slaying when his DNA was found at the scene, police said at the time.
Coffin told police that he stole some of King's jewelry when she invited him into the house. He left, but returned later and killed her, police said.
