LARGO — Attorneys said they have finished much of the preliminary work for the trial of a teenager accused of shooting St. Petersburg Police Officer David S. Crawford last year.
That's an indication things are proceeding on schedule for the March 19 murder trial of Nicholas Lindsey, 16.
Prosecutors at a hearing on Friday said pretrial interviews have been conducted on most of the people expected to be called as witnesses in the trial.
But some more work remains. Defense attorney Dyril Flanagan said a forensic psychologist will evaluate Lindsey. He said the defense also intends to contact an expert on cell phone tower transmissions.
Another pretrial hearing has been scheduled for Jan. 26.
Lindsey is accused of shooting Crawford last February, after Crawford caught Lindsey in the process of breaking into a car.
