Murder defense pleads not guilty

 Daniel Brunette, 33, of Brooksville, plead not-guilty Tuesday in the shooting death of 22-year-old Darius Hampton. On the evening of June 4, the two men were driving to meet friends and started arguing. Brunette pulled out a .38-caliber revolver and shot Hampton five times in the parking lot Withlacoochee State Trail on Croom-Rital Road in Ridge Manor then buried his body in the Withlacoochee State Forest. His pre-trial date is set for Aug. 1.
