TAMPA — Convicted rapist Kendrick Morris, 19, will be sentenced Dec. 17 for assaults on a 62-year-old day care worker and an 18-year-old high school student.
The sentencing date was set at a hearing Tuesday.
It's unclear what penalty the state will seek, but prosecutors have said they won't ask for life because of a U.S. Supreme Court decision.
The court recently ruled that it was cruel to sentence offenders to life without parole for nondeath crimes committed when the offenders were juveniles. In Florida, life sentences do not allow parole.
