TAMPA — A man has been sentenced to 20 years in federal prison for transportation and receipt of child pornography.

Richard Donald Ragsdale, 57, also admitted in online chats that he had prior sexual contact with children, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Authorities searched his Tampa residence in June 2014 and found a laptop containing hundreds of illegal videos and images depicting children.

He pleaded guilty in December and was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Mary S. Scriven. The case, filed by Homeland Security Investigations, was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer L. Peresie.
