Tarpon Springs woman faces tax evasion charges

TAMPA — Federal authorities have arrested a 60-year-old Tarpon Springs woman who has been wanted since her indictment 11 months ago on tax evasion charges.

For the years 2002 through 2006, Nova Montgomery filed returns claiming no taxable income, though her taxable income totaled $612,440 and she owed taxes totaling $147,085, the federal government alleges.

U.S. Marshals looked for her in Mexico and Colorado before she surrendered earlier this month, court records state.

Montgomery declined to comment. On her Twitter page, she describes herself as an online UnFranchise owner, part of the internet marketing and product brokerage company Market America.
