Woman gets probation for prostitution, drug charges

Plea leads to probation

Jessica Anne Shea, one of several women arrested last year in a prostitution sting involving sexual services advertised online, pleaded to charges in court Thursday and was sentenced to probation.

Pasco County sheriff's investigators said Shea, 33, and others posted sex services on Craigslist and backpage.com in November. Confidential informants responded to the ads and met the women at the Sleep Inn on Oakley Boulevard in Wesley Chapel. For payments between $200 and $250, the women began sex acts with the informants and were stopped by deputies.

Shea, who lives at 7300 Terrace Drive in Hudson, pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of prostitution and a felony charge of possessing a controlled substance. She was sentenced to two years of probation with drug treatment conditions and $802 in fines and costs.
