Crash in northern St. Petersburg downs power lines

ST. PETERSBURG — Police asked drivers to avoid the area around Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street and 90th Avenue N late Saturday afternoon after a vehicle crashed into a utility pole, downing power lines.

Officers said the driver of the vehicle was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg and may have experienced a medical problem before the crash. Police were at the scene investigating as of about 6 p.m.

No further information was immediately released.
