Deputies seek suspect in Tuesday Valrico bank robbery

A man who made his getaway on a bicycle robbed a Valrico bank Tuesday morning, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

Authorities are searching for the robber, who entered Fifth Third Bank at 3402 Lithia Pinecrest Road about 9:45 a.m. The man, who was carrying a small black gun, approached the teller and demanded money, the Sheriff's Office said. After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, he fled the bank westbound on a light-colored, possibly silver, mountain bike.

Deputies describe the man as white, between 5 feet 6 and 5 feet 8 and approximately 200 pounds, with facial stubble. He was last seen wearing a dark sweat jacket with the hood tightly pulled around his face, dark sunglasses, gloves and denim jeans.

Anyone with information about the robbery can call the Sheriff's Office at (813) 247-8200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-8477.
