TAMPA — The votes are in. It's official: the Today show will not be coming to the University of South Florida next week.
One of six finalists in Today's College Challenge, a national contest that asked voters to pick the school with the most spirit, USF showcased its spirit on live television last week with a raucous display of green and gold pompoms, leis, bull horns, dances, cheers and face paint.
The Bulls were beat out by the University of Tennessee's Volunteers, who will host Today's Oct. 1 broadcast.
Hosts Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb announced the results on the morning show Monday, citing more than 150,000 votes cast from around the country.
Tennessee also beat out Syracuse University, Ohio State University, Creighton University and Brandeis University in the challenge.
