TAMPA — Officials at the University of South Florida today are launching a new program that will guarantee admission to students in seven participating regional colleges, and help them feel welcome at USF before they get there.

After receiving their associate's degree, students at schools such as St. Petersburg College, Hillsborough Community College and Pasco-Hernando State College will be able to enter any one of a dozen degree pathways at USF to complete their bachelor's. They'll also be given access to extras such as USF academic advising, and will be encouraged to participate in USF student activities.

After a ceremony this morning at USF's Marshall Center, the school will offer tours to students who will be taking advantage of the program, which is called FUSE. Look for an update of today's events on Monday.
