2 Hernando schools plan kindergarten roundups

For children who will turn 5 by Sept. 1, it is time to register for kindergarten.

Parents will need their driver's license, their child's birth certificate (not a copy) and Social Security card, proof of residence (such as a utility bill), the child's physical and shot records, including hepatitis B shots and 2 Varicella (chickenpox) shots or documentation of having had chicken pox.

Brooksville Elementary School will hold its roundup from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, in the Brooksville Elementary courtyard. Registration packets will be available and parents can register for August's Kindergarten Fun Day. If packets are returned before July 1, the kindergarten child will receive a free school spirit shirt.

J.D. Floyd Elementary School will host a roundup from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday; and 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Parents need only to attend one session. For information, call 797-7055.
