This fast-paced, rollicking musical takes a joyous around the world tour of the dances, songs and stories from Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and more. For grades K–5 | $5.

Briefly

• Gulfside Elementary School in Holiday will host a special anti-bullying presentation for students featuring renowned speaker, Lizzie Sider at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 27. Sider, who has presented at 400 schools across the country, created her own Bully Prevention Assembly, where she shares her personal experiences with elementary and middle school students.

Newsmakers

• The J.W. Mitchell High School Band achieved the highest possible award at the Regional Florida Marching Band Champions (FMBC) Competition held Nov. 11 at Riverview High. The band won first place out of 12 competing bands, which earned them a second coveted Grand Champion award.

Under the direction of Joel Quina, Director of Bands, and Assistant director, Ryan Harring, the J.W. Mitchell High Band of approximately 240 high school musicians and color guard, performed with exactitude and musicality the production, "Painted Black." The band also earned Superior ratings at the Florida Bandmasters Association evaluation on Nov. 4, which included high school bands in Pasco, Hernando and Citrus Counties.
