Gulf Middle School resource officer John Nohejl is off the job as detectives investigate a criminal complaint against him.
The complaint involves an incident that occurred while Nohejl was not on duty, and has nothing to do with the school, said Darryl Garman, New Port Richey assistant police chief. But the nature of the complaint, which Garman would not reveal, requires the department to conduct a full inquiry.
Nohejl faced an investigation earlier this year into the content of his MySpace page aimed at students.
The department cleared Nohejl of any wrongdoing in that instance, where some of his site "friends" had links to pornographic Web sites. The current investigation appears to have nothing to do with the Internet, Garman said.
Garman said he did not know how long Nohejl would remain out of Gulf Middle. The school will not go without a resource officer, though.

I think it really stings that you would print something without the facts and leave people to think the worst cause that is what everyone does and the mans rep will be ruin. I hope that if what ever it is officer john knows people are on his side.

Holy Smokes !!!!! why was this article allowed to be printed? The only fact here is that the man is off pending and investigation. The rest is slander and a slam to resource officers.

To Jeffery Solochek, you should be arrested for stealing money from the times as an investigative writer. Your lack of details and overall information about this is man is incredible. Way to dig.

I'm not no fan of the officer, but still wish to mention that this is no article. Let us know his infraction BEFORE placing his name out in this way.
Lame, St Pete Times, lame.

I hope that this is merely a case where someone just has it out for this man and that it is not a case where he is ruining the trust of an entire school and public safety department :(
