• Schools are invited to participate in the Southwest Florida Water Management District's World Water Monitoring Day, an international outreach program that builds public awareness and involvement in protecting water resources around the world. Participating students monitor the quality of local rivers, streams, estuaries, and other water bodies from Thursday to Oct. 18, and enter the results of their efforts in an international database. • Special Olympic Training Nights will be from 6 to 7 p.m. each Wednesday starting today at Seven Springs Middle School, 2441 Little Road, New Port Richey.
