Cotee River Elementary: Books-A-Million at Embassy Crossing on U.S. 19 N in Port Richey is hosting a book signing to raise money for a new playground at Cotee from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday. Featured author is children's book writer Robert Z. Hicks (Tommie Turtle's Secret).

Crews Lake Middle: PTSO bingo night, 6:30 Friday.

Fox Hollow Elementary: Annual parent meeting and homework workshop, 6 p.m. Monday.

• Florida Bandmasters Association District 5 Marching Performance Assessment, 2 p.m. Saturday at River Ridge Middle/High School stadium.
