Candidates gain spots in School Board race
Though the date to officially qualify for the August ballot remains a month away, most of the candidates for School Board and superintendent have secured their spot by collecting enough signatures from voters.
Three candidates in the nonpartisan School Board District 2 race — Kurt Conover, Peter Hanzel and Joann Hurley — collected the 2,632 signatures required. So did superintendent Heather Fiorentino, a Republican, and her Democratic challenger Steve Donaldson.
Neither School Board District 4 incumbent Kathryn Starkey nor superintendent aspirant Michelle Rehm, an independent, submitted petitions. But they can still qualify for the ballot by paying a fee.
