Elementary school students from Robinson Elementary School came to Turkey Creek Middle School in Hillsborough County for a sweet treat.
The students picked strawberries at a working farm at the middle school. In what is now a Valentine's Day tradition, FFA middle schoolers introduce younger students to their farm program, which was started about five years ago.
Students plant multiple crops, but strawberries are the farm's main product. Local berry growers help guide the elementary school students, with help from the AG staff at Turkey Creek.
Along with picking strawberries, the Robinson students watched an educational strawberry movie and took part in coloring activities at Turkey Creek's agriculture department.
