HUDSON — A student at Fivay High School was arrested Friday after bringing three knives to school, authorities said.
The 16-year-old student, whose name is being withheld because of his age, brought two folding knives and a 6-inch fixed-blade knife to campus, according to a Pasco County Sheriff's Office report. An administrator searched the boy about 2 p.m. after an employee noticed one of the folding knives attached to the teen's pants.
The boy told the administrator he had brought the knives "for protection if he got into a fight," the report said. He was charged with possession of a weapon on school grounds and taken to the juvenile assessment center.
