Hernando bus routes, pickup times updated; courtesy busing eliminated

Transportation officials are updating school bus routes and pickup times. Because of budget reductions, courtesy bus transportation for those living within 2 miles of school has been eliminated for the 2011-2012 school year.

Detailed bus route information is expected to be available the week of Aug. 8, and can be found on the website hernandoschools.org (select District Offices, School Services, I-Z, then Transportation).

Bus stops are not listed for students enrolled in specialized programs such as AYP, Career Academy, TOPS and students with special needs.

Parents should remember that during the first week of school, buses often run late. Also, all bus stops and times are subject to change.

Parents who have questions or do not have computer access can call their child's school or the district transportation office at (352) 797-7003.
