Kindergarten registrations and other school open houses
Hernando District schools soon will begin registering children for kindergarten.
These are the requirements for children to enter kindergarten for the 2011-2012 school year:
Students must be 5 on or before Sept. 1 of the prior school year.
Each child must have his or her birth certificate; proof of a physical completed by a licensed physician dated no earlier than Aug. 1 of the prior school year; an up-to-date immunization record (blue form); and proof of residency (can be a rent receipt home contract, utility bill with parent(s) or guardian(s) name or a notarized statement from family member with whom he or she lives).
Kindergarten
These are the times schools have scheduled their registrations:
Brooksville Elementary: To be announced.
Chocachatti Elementary: 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday.
Challenger K8: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 13.
Deltona Elementary: 9 to 10 a.m. May 17.
Eastside Elementary: TBA.
Explorer K8: TBA.
J.D. Floyd K8: 6 to 7 p.m. May 5.
Moton Elementary: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. May 10.
Pine Grove Elementary: 5:30 to 7 p.m. May 4; 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. May 5 in the media center.
Spring Hill Elementary: Noon to 2 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. April 27.
Suncoast Elementary: TBA.
Westside Elementary: TBA.
Open houses
Open houses for potential students of all grade levels:
Notre Dame Catholic School: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. April 1.
Hernando Christian Academy: 6 p.m. April 28 and May 12.
