Hernando County school menus

These breakfasts and lunches will be served in Hernando County schools this week. Students have a choice of fruit juice and flavored or unflavored milk. Elementary students can select two side dishes with their lunch; middle and high school students can select three side dishes.

Elementary breakfast

Monday: Breakfast pizza or cereal with mini bagel.

Tuesday: Chicken and biscuit or cereal with animal crackers.

Wednesday: Pizza bagel or cereal with cinnamon roll.

Thursday: Sausage biscuit or cereal with Belly Bear Grahams.

Friday: Sausage in a pancake or cereal with cinnamon sticks.

Middle school breakfast

Monday: Breakfast pizza with graham crackers or cereal with mini bagel.

Tuesday: Chicken and biscuit with animal crackers or cereal with animal crackers.

Wednesday: Cinnamon roll or cereal with Goldfish pretzels.

Thursday: Sausage biscuit with Belly Bear Grahams or cereal with Belly Bear Grahams.

Friday: Sausage in a pancake with cinnamon sticks or cereal with cinnamon sticks.

High school breakfast

Daily: French toast sticks, pancakes and sausage, two biscuits and a sausage patty, two biscuits and a chicken patty, breakfast pizza with cereal bar, sausage in a pancake and a cereal bar, or a choice of cereal with a bagel.

Elementary and middle school lunch

Monday ­— Entrees: Tossed vegetable salad, ham and cheese on white-wheat, chicken sandwich, meatball sub. Choice of sides: Mixed green salad, seasoned corn, chilled pineapple.

Tuesday — Entrees: Chef salad, tuna salad hoagie, Fiestada, Asian popcorn chicken with roll. Choice of sides: Broccoli with (or without) cheese, fresh baby carrots, fresh fruit.

Wednesday — Entrees: Caesar salad, turkey and cheese wrap, stuffed cheese sticks with dipping sauce, chicken fajita. Choice of sides: Tossed salad, potato triangles, chilled peaches.

Thursday — Entrees: Tossed vegetable salad, peanut butter and jelly Uncrustable (elementary choice only), ham and cheese wrap (middle school choice only), chicken nuggets with breadstick, lasagna with breadstick. Choice of sides: Mixed green salad, seasoned green beans, chilled pears.

Friday — Entrees: Caesar salad, chicken salad on bun (elementary choice only), chicken salad wrap (middle school choice only), stuffed crust pizza (elementary choice only), cheeseburger (middle school choice only), fish and cheese sandwich. Choice of sides: Lettuce and tomato salad, baked chips, fresh fruit.

High school lunch

Daily: Turkey and cheese hoagie, ham and cheese hoagie, chicken caesar wrap, tomato and cheese hoagie, spicy chicken tender wrap, peanut butter and jelly Uncrustable, chicken salad or tuna wrap (Tuesdays and Thursdays only), various pizza meals, spicy chicken sandwich, chicken sandwich, burgers, chicken nuggets or popcorn chicken, chef salad, Caesar salad, chicken Caesar salad and classic salad with breaded chicken.

Monday — Entrees: Asian popcorn chicken with roll or chili cheese dog. Choice of sides: Au gratin potatoes, fresh vegetable cup, tossed salad, chilled peaches.

Tuesday — Entrees: Italian pasta, corn dog or mini corn dogs. Choice of sides: Peas and carrots, fresh vegetable cup, tossed salad, fresh fruit.

Wednesday — Entrees: Barbecue rib sandwich or chicken fajita. Choice of sides: Roasted chicken flavored rice, fresh vegetable cup, tossed salad, chilled pears.

Thursday — Entrees: Macaroni and cheese or meatball sub. Choice of sides: Seasoned green beans, fresh vegetable cup, tossed salad, chilled applesauce.

Friday — Entrees: Baked chicken or fish and cheese sandwich. Choice of sides: Mashed potatoes and gravy, fresh vegetable cup, tossed salad, fresh fruit.
