Class notes

Brooksville Elementary: The School Advisory Council will meet and present its annual school improvement plan at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the staff meeting room. The council is a decision-making group made up of parents, business and community partners, teachers and administration and is seeking new members. For information, call (352) 797-7014.

• Grades 1 to 5 Back to School Night and the annual Title I meeting will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Participants will learn about the Title I program and what's happening in the classrooms. Teachers will share grade-level academic goals and showcase class activities with parents. Families will then go to the cafeteria for a free hot dog dinner. The Book Fair will be open, and community exhibitors will be available to provide information and assistance to families.

Fox Chapel Middle: Back to School Night and the annual Title I meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in students' first-period classrooms. This is a chance to meet administrators and teachers, discuss the school-parent contract, learn about new programs and after-school tutoring, get information about Ed Line and see a student presentation about "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens."

• The school will present a four-part workshop series on "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens" for parents. The first session will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Locomo Skate-Dance-Party, 10451 County Line Road, Spring Hill. Students whose parents attend the workshop may skate for free. The second session will be from 2:45 to 3:45 p.m. Oct. 25 in the school media center. Students whose parents attend will get free admission to the school's Halloween dance. The third workshop will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 19 in the media center while students have a movie night. The last will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Dec. 5, again at the roller rink.

Hernando High: The School Advisory Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the school's main office. For information, call Marianne Bennett at (352) 797-7015, ext. 406.

West HernandO MiddlE: The annual Title I meeting and Back to School Night will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Parents will follow their children's schedules and meet their teachers. They will receive information about Title I. For information, call Tula Kelleher, Title I parent educator, at (352) 797-7035, ext. 256.

Parrot Middle: The annual Title 1 meeting and Parent Teacher Conference Night is scheduled for 5:45 p.m. Thursday at the school. For information, call (352) 797-7075, ext 256.

Winding Waters K-8: The school invites parents to Curriculum Night, which will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday for the elementary school and at 5:45 p.m. Friday for the middle school.
