HERNANDO HIGH: Band members Abby Davis and Alex Brockew were selected to perform in the Tri-State Honor Band at Florida State University.

This is the second year that Davis has been selected for the honor. Davis and Brockew participated for three days in rehearsals and master classes, then performed in the Ruby Diamond Concert Hall on the FSU campus.

Also, the Hernando High band recently qualified and performed in the Florida Marching Band Championship Semifinals. Approximately 100 bands performed in five classes. Hernando's band performed in Class 3A and placed 16th in the state.

In addition, the band performed at the 2012 Florida Bandmasters Association Marching Music Performance Assessment. The event is a graded assessment, and Hernando earned straight superior ratings from all six adjudicators.
