Hernando High students muy bueno in Spanish competition

BROOKSVILLE — Hernando High School students participated in the Spanish State Competition held March 10-12 in Orlando. The students earned 602 out of 760 points.

In the impromptu speech category in their divisions, these students placed first: Perla Maidana and Stephen Skipper. Placing second place were Cierra Adkison, Chandler Bray, Shanley Carlton, Stephanie McMahon and Courtney Stoll; placing third were Brennan Ertl and Lydia Lee; and placing fourth place was Krysta Penney.

In the declamation (poetry reading) category in their divisions, these students placed first: Chandler Bray, Krysta Penney and Shanley Carlton. Cierra Adkison, Brennan Ertl, Perla Maidana and Stephanie McMahon all placed second.

In the dramatic presentation category in their divisions, these students placed second: Krysta Penney, Stephen Skipper and Brennan Ertl.
