Registration for kindergarten
Hernando district schools are registering children for kindergarten.
These are the requirements for children to enter kindergarten for the 2011-2012 school year:
Students must be 5 on or before Sept. 1.
Each child must have:
• Birth certificate.
• Proof of a physical completed by a licensed physician dated no earlier than Aug. 1 of the prior school year.
• An up-to-date immunization record (blue form).
• Proof of residency (can be a rent receipt, home contract, utility bill with parent(s) or guardian(s) name, or a notarized statement from a family member who lives with the child).
Registrations
These are the times schools have scheduled their registrations:
Deltona Elementary: 9 to 11 a.m. and 3 to 6 p.m. May 17.
EaStside Elementary: 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
J.D. Floyd K-8: 6 to 7 p.m. today.
Moton Elementary: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Pine Grove Elementary: 9 to 11 a.m. today.
Suncoast Elementary: 9 to 11 a.m. and 5:30 to 7 p.m. today.
Westside Elementary: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Open houses
Open houses for potential students of all grade levels:
Hernando Christian Academy: 6 p.m. May 12.
