Hillsborough school lunch menus, Jan. 19-23

Elementary breakfast

Monday: No school.

Tuesday: Buttermilk pancakes, hot oatmeal, assorted bagel.

Wednesday: Southern-style breakfast, sausage biscuit, buttermilk biscuits.

Thursday: French toast sticks, Cuban cheese toast, giant goldfish cracker, peanut butter cup.

Friday: Breakfast scrambler, blueberry muffin, biscuits.

Elementary lunch

Monday: Turkey tetrazzini, crustless peanut butter and jelly sandwich, Mandarin oranges, steamed broccoli, frozen fruit pop, roll.

Tuesday: Chicken nuggets, Cuban pork with yellow rice, cheese stick munch n' dip, potato wedges, garden salad, fruit cup, birthday cake.

Wednesday: Corn dog, orange fruit nuggets, fruit cup, spicy goldfish crackers.

Thursday: Hamburger, crispy chicken, cheese chef salad, au gratin potatoes, tropical treasure fruit mix, green beans, whole-grain roll.

Friday: Whole-grain pizza, Cuban sandwich, yogurt munch n' dip, peach slices, alphabet soup, green peas, dolphin cheese crackers.

Secondary breakfast

Monday: Cuban cheese toast, sausage biscuit with potato triangle, cinnamon roll. Items available all week: peanut butter and jelly bar, cinnamon raisin bagel, assorted cereal with graham bear, yogurt with granola.

Tuesday: Mini buttermilk pancakes, egg and cheese biscuit with potato triangle, cinnamon roll.

Wednesday: Southern-style breakfast, sausage biscuit with potato triangle, cinnamon roll.

Thursday: Egg and cheese breakfast burrito, chicken biscuit with potato triangle, cinnamon roll.

Friday: Belgian waffle sticks, sausage biscuit with potato triangle, cinnamon roll.

Secondary lunch

Monday: Chicken and yellow rice casserole, grilled chicken supreme sandwich, pizza sticks with marinara sauce, black beans, Cuban garlic bread.

Tuesday: Macaroni and cheese, cheeseburger, popcorn chicken, fruit crisp, green beans.

Wednesday: Corn dog, cold cut combo sandwich, fruit nuggets, baked chips.

Thursday: Asian chicken rice bowl, barbecue Cuban pork sandwich, buffalo chicken strips, steamed broccoli, California blend vegetables.

Friday: Baked ziti, cheeseburger, harvest pizza, potato spudsters, green peas, garlic Parmesan roll.

  1. Lacking support, lobbying ordinance gets no hearing in Hernando

    BROOKSVILLE — A push to publicly identify people who lobby top county officials was rejected by a majority of the Hernando County Commission this week when commissioners decided to pull a proposed lobbying ordinance from the agenda.

    Commissioner Steve Champion said there was not a consensus to bring a lobbying ordinance forward so the item should not have been placed on the agenda.

    DUNEDIN — When Martha Hereford-Cothron returned to her classroom at Dunedin Highland Middle School on Monday morning, her heart sank as her eyes scanned the room and landed on a white bookshelf, empty except for a broken DVD player and a thermal blanket.
