Pasco County students get taste of 'snow'

While kids up North were bracing for a winter snowstorm, students enrolled in the PLACE program at Moon Lake Elementary in New Port Richey enjoyed their own kind of snow day over the winter break. Just add a little water to a product called SnoWonder and, in an instant, you have artificial snow.

"A lot of our kids have never seen real snow," said site manager Terry Schievella who — with staff members — made enough to fill a small wading pool for kids to dig into. They even cooled some in a freezer so students could get an idea of what the real deal might feel like.
