Pasco school briefs

The Pasco Education Foundation "Excellence in Academics" awards ceremony will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Center for the Arts at Wesley Chapel, 30651 Wells Road.

• Land O'Lakes High hosts An Evening of Literacy Through the Arts from 6 to 8 p.m. May 3 at the school, 30325 Gator Lane. Event includes student art show and sale; performances by drama students, American Sign Language students and the jazz and concert bands; French and German language activities; a culinary arts demonstration; book sale; and the chance to take part in Literacy Games.

• The Mitchell boys golf team annual fundraiser golf tournament will be at noon May 6 at Fox Hollow Golf Club. Cost is $90 per golfer, $320 if you bring your own foursome, and includes range balls, tee gifts, greens fee with cart, door prizes and an awards dinner.     The Make-A-Wish Foundation is on the lookout for sick children in the Tampa Bay area who need a once-in-a-lifetime pick-me-up.

    Grace Savage, a 10-year-old girl with a chromosomal disorder made a trek to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium last year, courtesy of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The foundation intends to beef up its presence in the Tampa Bay area after a reorganization.
