TAMPA — Firefighters, paramedics, police and state troopers from Tampa, Hillsborough County and Temple Terrace gathered Tuesday at Living Faith Church to escort Santa to Robles Elementary School in Tampa. Santa read a holiday story to a group of young students who also received some small gifts.
Robles Elementary was chosen for the visit because many children attending the school come from low-income families.
This event is also intended to let members of the community know how they can reach out to help disadvantaged children through Sincerely Santa, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing holiday gifts for needy elementary school children who might not otherwise have a holiday. Over the past 24 years, Sincerely Santa has reached more than 100,000 at-risk and underprivileged children.
