School menus for the week

These breakfasts and lunches will be served in Hernando County schools this week. Students have a choice of fruit juice and flavored or unflavored milk. Elementary students can select two side dishes with their lunch; middle and high school students can select three side dishes.

Elementary breakfast

Monday: Breakfast pizza or cereal with mini bagel.

Tuesday: Chicken and biscuit or Breakfast Breaks.

Wednesday: Pizza bagel or cereal with Goldfish pretzels.

Thursday: Sausage biscuit or Breakfast Breaks.

Friday: Pancake on a stick or yogurt with cereal bar.

Middle school breakfast

Monday: Breakfast pizza with stuffed cheese stick or cereal with mini bagel.

Tuesday: Chicken and biscuit with animal crackers or Breakfast Breaks.

Wednesday: Pizza bagel with Goldfish crackers or cereal with Goldfish pretzels.

Thursday: Sausage biscuit with Belly Bear Grahams or Breakfast Breaks.

Friday: Pancake on a stick with cereal bar or yogurt with cereal bar.

Note: Breakfast Breaks are boxed meals that include cereal, juice and a snack.

High school breakfast

Daily: French toast sticks, pancakes and sausage, two biscuits and a sausage patty, two biscuits and a chicken patty, breakfast pizza with stuffed cheese stick, sausage in a pancake and a cereal bar, or a choice of cereal with a bagel.

Elementary and middle school lunch

Monday — Entrees: Caesar salad, ham and cheese wrap, chicken sandwich (elementary choice only), spicy chicken sandwich (middle school choice only), hot dog. Choice of sides: Tossed salad, seasoned green beans, chilled mixed fruit.

Tuesday — Entrees: Tossed vegetable salad, chicken salad pita, beefy taco bowl, Minh pork egg rolls. Choice of sides: Lettuce and tomato salad, Spanish rice, fresh fruit.

Wednesday —- Entrees: Chicken caesar salad, peanut butter and jelly Uncrustable (elementary choice only), tuna salad on bun (middle school choice only), stuffed cheese sticks with dipping sauce, turkey and gravy over mashed potatoes. Choice of sides: Antipasto salad, broccoli with (or without) cheese, chilled peaches.

Thursday — Entrees: Caesar salad, turkey and cheese hoagie, popcorn chicken with breadstick, Beef-a-roni with breadstick. Choice of sides: Seasoned peas, baked chips, chilled pineapple.

Friday Entrees: Chef salad, chicken caesar wrap, hamburger, Uno Pizza (elementary choice only), fish sandwich (middle school choice only). Choice of sides: Mixed green salad, seasoned corn, fresh fruit.

High school lunch

Daily: Turkey and cheese hoagie, chicken caesar wrap, various pizza meals, spicy chicken sandwich, chicken sandwich, hamburger, cheeseburger, hot dog, chicken nuggets, chef salad, caesar salad and chicken caesar salad.

Monday — Entrees: Meatball sub or chicken fajitas. Choice of sides: Onion rings, fresh vegetable cup, tossed salad, chilled peaches.

Tuesday — Entrees: Italian pasta, corn dog or mini corn dogs. Choice of sides: Seasoned green beans, fresh vegetable cup, tossed salad, fresh fruit.

Wednesday — Entrees: Barbecue rib sandwich or turkey pot pie. Choice of sides: Au gratin potatoes, fresh vegetable cup, tossed salad, chilled pears.

Thursday — Entrees: Macaroni and cheese or chili cheese hot dog. Choice of sides: Seasoned California-blend vegetables, fresh vegetable cup, tossed salad, chilled applesauce.

Friday — Entrees: Baked chicken or spicy fish tenders. Choice of sides: Mashed potatoes with gravy, fresh vegetable cup, tossed salad, fresh fruit.
