School menus this week

These breakfasts and lunches will be served in Hernando County schools this week. Students have a choice of fruit juice and flavored or unflavored milk. Elementary students can select two side dishes with their lunch; middle and high school students can select three side dishes.

Elementary breakfast

Tuesday: Chicken and biscuit or Breakfast Breaks.

Wednesday: Pizza bagel or cereal with Goldfish pretzels.

Thursday: Sausage biscuit or Breakfast Breaks.

Friday: Pancake on a stick or yogurt with cereal bar.

Middle school breakfast

Tuesday: Chicken and biscuit with animal crackers or Breakfast Breaks.

Wednesday: Pizza bagel with Goldfish crackers or cereal with Goldfish pretzels.

Thursday: Sausage biscuit with Belly Bear Grahams or Breakfast Breaks.

Friday: Pancake on a stick with cereal bar or yogurt with cereal bar.

Note: Breakfast Breaks are boxed meals that include cereal, juice and a snack.

High school breakfast

Daily: French toast sticks, pancakes and sausage, two biscuits and a sausage patty, two biscuits and a chicken patty, breakfast pizza with stuffed cheese stick, sausage in a pancake and a cereal bar, or a choice of cereal with a bagel.

Elementary and middle school lunch

Tuesday - Entrees: Chicken caesar salad, ham and cheese hoagie, beef tacos, macaroni and cheese with biscuit. Choice of sides: Vegetable cup, seasoned peas and carrots, fruit.

Wednesday - Entrees: Caesar salad, chicken salad wrap, stuffed cheese sticks with dipping sauce, baked chicken with roll. Choice of sides: Mixed green salad, mashed potatoes, chilled pears.

Thursday - Entrees: Tossed vegetable salad, peanut butter and jelly Uncrustable (elementary choice only), ham and cheese wrap (middle school choice only), chicken nuggets with bread stick, Rib-a-que sandwich. Choice of sides: Seasoned green beans, au gratin potatoes, applesauce.

Friday - Entrees: Caesar salad, tuna salad on bun, Smart pizza (elementary choice only), cheeseburger (middle school choice only), Mexican chicken gordita. Choice of sides: Antipasto salad, broccoli, fresh fruit.

High school lunch

Daily: Turkey and cheese hoagie, chicken caesar wrap, various pizza meals, spicy chicken sandwich, chicken sandwich, hamburger, cheeseburger, hot dog, chicken nuggets, chef salad, caesar salad and chicken caesar salad.

Tuesday - Entrees: Stuffed cheese sticks with dipping sauce or pork lo mein. Choice of sides: Peas, vegetable cup, tossed salad, fresh fruit.

Wednesday - Entrees: Chicken parmesan with pasta or teriyaki beef dippers with fried rice. Choice of sides: Seasoned carrots, tossed salad, vegetable cup, pineapple.

Thursday - Entrees: Turkey and gravy with biscuit, or beefy nachos. Choice of sides: Broccoli with (or without) cheese, fresh vegetable cup, tossed salad, peaches.

Friday - Entrees: Italian lasagna or shrimp poppers. Choice of sides: Seasoned corn, vegetable cup, tossed salad, fruit.
