The Hernando County school district's Spot the Watt program helps save money by having schools participate in energy-saving efforts. Schools receive a rebate of 1 cent for every kilowatt hour saved, which can be used for recycling, energy and water conservation and restocking custodial supplies.

The following schools recently received Spot the Watt rebates: Brooksville Elementary, Chocachatti Elementary, Eastside Elementary, Explorer K-8, Hernando High, J.D. Floyd K-8, Moton Elementary, Nature Coast Technical High, Parrott Middle and Powell Middle.
