A school that pops up once a year did so on Oct. 18 as Springstead High was transformed into Horror High. The haunted house event, which is a business venture for Springstead's DECA organization, helps members pay for travel to state and national competitions. Horror High also provides lessons for the marketing students who promote it. They have to sell sponsorships, create advertising, design the various activities — with help from the school's graphics students — and organize students to staff the evening. "A whole lot of business-type activities," said sports marketing teacher Tim Plumadore.
