TARPON SPRINGS — The National Science Foundation awarded St. Petersburg College a grant last month to help expand its biomedical engineering teachings.

Over the next three years, a nearly $620,000 grant from the foundation is aimed at helping the college develop a new certificate integrating medical device networking and cybersecurity. The college's Tarpon Springs campus is debuting a new biomedical engineering technology lab this fall. The grant will help the college build its biomedical engineering technology Associate in Science degree by providing training across cybersecurity, health sciences and biomedical engineering technology.
