Celebrities care about Earth, too. Here's what six of them are doing, as reported by Chicago Tribune's RedEye publication. George Clooney

The actor drives around Hollywood in his Tango electric car. And he also launched Oil Change (participate.net), a program that supports alternative fuel sources to reduce the world's dependence on oil.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus

The actor lives in a solar-powered home, drives an electric car and eats organic foods. Louis-Dreyfus is also active in environmental organizations that promote clean water and preserving land.

Daryl Hannah

The longtime environmentalist prefers hemp clothing, drives a biodiesel car and owns a solar-powered home. Hannah offers tips on living green on her blog (dhlovelife.com). Ed Begley Jr.

One of the first celebrities to go green, Begley drives an electric car and owns a solar-powered home. He also developed Begley's Best, his own brand of all-purpose, all-natural cleaners (begleysbest.com).

Robert Redford

For 30 years the actor has served on the board of the Natural Resources Defense Council. Redford introduced an environmental programming series on the Sundance cable network called The Green.

Cate Blanchett

The actor's home in Sydney is solar-powered, and she is active in the Australian Conservation Foundation's Who On Earth Cares campaign (whoonearthcares.com), to reduce greenhouse pollution.
