Oldsmar closes well for possible contamination

OLDSMAR — The city has closed one water well after learning fecal indicators were found in a November water sample.

Fecal indicators are a sign the water may be contaminated with human or animal waste, the city said in a release.

The well is not currently in service, so no boil-water alert will be issued. Oldsmar is conducting testing to make sure the water isn't still contaminated. Customers with additional questions can call public information officer Ann Nixon at (813) 749-1115.
