Some Lithia residents had a very Florida surprise in their pool Wednesday morning: a 7 to 8-foot-long alligator.

Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies were responding to the scene around 9 a.m. and said Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission trappers were on their way to capture the scaly beast.

Deputies had some fun with the incident on Twitter, calling the gator a trespasser and writing that the "apprehensions of ... this suspect should be interesting."
