Video: Injured gator slows traffic crossing Lakeland Road

LAKELAND — A woman on Tuesday evening shared a video on Facebook that showed a large gator slowing traffic as it slithered across a busy road.

Sherese Walker told 10News WTSP she was driving on Sleepy Hill Road in North Lakeland around 7 p.m. Tuesday when she spotted the gator.

Traffic paused as the gator crossed back-and-forth across both spans of the roadway — at times with small bursts of speed. The gator appeared to have an injured tail.

Eventually it made its way off the road and into a grouping of trees.

As of Wednesday morning, Walker's video has been shared over 4,000 times and has racked up over 112,000 views.
