Tampa General, Moffitt top local list of U.S. News' best hospitals

TGH, Moffitt do well in hospital rankings

Tampa General Hospital and Moffitt Cancer Center are the local winners in U.S. News and World Report's annual list of the best hospitals in the nation.

TGH, the primary teaching hospital for the University of South Florida medical school, was named the region's best hospital, and the state's second-best, behind Florida Hospital in Orlando. Moffitt, rated the region's second-best hospital overall, rose in the national cancer center rankings to 19, up from 22 last year.

Nationally, Baltimore's Johns Hopkins Hospital reclaimed the No. 1 position, which it lost to Massachusetts General Hospital last year. Get the full list at health.usnews.com
