The Wellington Tri-State Club at the Wellington at Seven Hills community in Spring Hill held a four-hour "mini" Relay for Life walk on Friday to raise cancer awareness and funds. A traditional relay is an overnight team event that can last up to 24 hours. "We are walking for the people who are afflicted by cancer and survivors," said Richard Caboy, a resident from the Wellington community whose wife, Gloria, walked with a friend, Maria Hixon, who is undergoing chemotherapy and radiation for breast cancer. They were not alone. Many participants walked in honor of friends or relatives touched by cancer.
