LifeSouth Community Blood Center will have blood drives at the following off-site locations during the coming week.

Friday: LifeSouth will be closed for the Christmas holiday.

Saturday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Walmart, 1485 Commercial Way, Spring Hill; 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Walmart, 7305 Broad St., Brooksville.

Sunday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Lakewood Plaza, 4395 Commercial Way, Spring Hill; 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Walmart, 7305 Broad St., Brooksville.

Monday: 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Walmart, 1485 Commercial Way, Spring Hill; 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sam's Club, 13360 Cortez Blvd., Spring Hill.

Tuesday: 11 a.m to 6 p.m., Walmart, 13300 Cortez Blvd., Spring Hill; 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Walgreen's, 13053 Cortez Blvd., Spring Hill.

Wednesday: 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Barclay Crossings, 14371 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill; 11 a.m to 6 p.m., Walmart, 7305 Broad St., Brooksville.

Thursday: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Walmart, 1485 Commercial Way, Spring Hill.

The blood center, at 12395 Cortez Blvd., Spring Hill, is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. Donors must be 16 or older (16-year-olds must have written parental consent). All donors must present photo identification. For information, call (352) 596-2002.

    ST. PETERSBURG — One man was arrested on charges he shot another man in the arm while attempting to rob a home in what St. Petersburg police are calling a drug-related incident.

    BRANDON — The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office praised a heroic Hooters Restaurant manager Wednesday for coming to the aid of two deputies struggling to subdue an unruly customer.

    It took two deputies and a Hooter's manager to get control of Ashton B. Toney after he threatened to kill an employee who refused to serve him alcohol at a Hooter's in Brandon, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office reported.
