Historic 1958 microchip to be auctioned

Associated Press

James Hyslop, head of Christie's Travel, Science and Natural History sale, holds a glass-mounted 1958 prototype integrated circuit designed by Nobel Prize-winning Texas Instruments engineer Jack Kilby. The London auction house estimates that the prototype microchip, a historic contribution to the modern computing era, will bring between $1 million and $2 million at a June 19 sale in New York.
