Art Festival Beth-El opens Jan. 31

Art Festival Beth-El celebrates its 42nd year with a three-day extravaganza Jan. 31-Feb. 2 at Temple Beth-El, 400 Pasadena Ave. S, St. Petersburg. The invitational juried show and sale features works indoors and outdoors.

A purchase award patrons reception runs from 1 to 4 p.m. Jan. 31 for those who have prepledged a minimum of $500. From 6 to 10 p.m., there is a patrons review and cocktail reception (free for purchase award patrons, $500 and above; sponsors, $250 and above; and benefactors, $150 and above). Donors ($25) are welcome at 7 p.m.

From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Feb. 1, admission to the festival and the Avenue of Shops is free. Light lunches are available for purchase.

On Feb. 2, admission is free. The Avenue of Shops will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Paul Wilborn and Eugenie Bondurant will perform beginning at 11 a.m.; a luncheon starts at 12:30 p.m. (reservations required); and a docent tour begins at 2 p.m. Information: artfestivalbethel.com; (727) 347-6136.

Arts community honors

MUSE, a benefit presented by the St. Petersburg Arts Alliance, pays tribute to members of the arts community beginning at 7 p.m. Jan. 30 at the Museum of Fine Arts, 255 Beach Drive NE. Honorees are Carrie Jadus, American Stage, Kristine Radish, Carol Mickett and Bob Stackhouse and Al May. Volunteer nominations due

Grant applications

Pinellas' Queen's Court is accepting grant applications for the 2016 Queen of Hearts Ball. Organizations applying must be listed under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue code for nonprofits; two will share proceeds.
